Tabora Regional Referral Hospital which is known as Kitete Hospital is established in 1906 as a military camp used to provide health care to war casualties during German colonial era.By that time this camp was receiving casualties from war and later changed to Military Hospital in 1928. As the time goes,
Tabora region keeps on growing and the Military Hospital became the Public Hospital because it provided health services to the citizens than soldiers, After independence, the Hospital changed to Regional Hospital and added some buildings such as administrative block and few wards. Since then this Hospital has been keep on renovation as per Hospital needs.
Tabora is located between latitudes 40 and 70 South and Longitudes 310 and 340 East, in the mid western part of the central plateau. Tabora region is found at an average altitude of 1,150m above sea level.
